PHILIP S. MILLER LIBRARY - AUGUST 2010
Bern Custom Woodworking was blessed with the opportunity to attend the grand opening of the children's section at the Philip S. Miller Library in Castle Rock, Colorado. http://douglascountylibraries.org/Locations/PhilipSMillerLibrary
With a generous donation from Dr. and Mrs. Robert C. Sullivan the children's section was built and turned out beautifully.  Bern Custom Woodworking was inspired by Dr. Sullivan's donation and decided that we would donate an entire set of children's furniture to the library as well.  Browse the photo album below to see photos of the event as well as photos of the children and even some adults having fun with new set donated on behalf of Bern Custom Woodworking.  We encourage you to find a cause or a local non-profit to donate your time or money to http://www.coloradononprofits.org/
Our local Colorado communities thrive when we all do our part to help out great causes!  If you have any questions about this event please contact us.

Important instructions for using the photo album below.  Please read through the instructions first if you still have questions, please email the webmaster for additional help.  The photo album is set up a lot like a slideshow.  You can use the PLAY button to start the slideshow.  You can set the speed to SLOW, MEDIUM, or FAST to play the slideshow at your desired speed.  If you would prefer to just look at each photo individually then use the PAUSE button to slow or halt the slideshow completely.  Then you can just use the ARROW FORWARD or the ARROW BACKWARD to browse each photo at your own pace.  This option allows you to read the text below each photo much easier.

THE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL FOUNDATION GALA - SEPTEMBER 2010

Bern Custom Woodworking was again blessed with an opportunity to help the community.  We donated an entire set of children's furniture this time to the Children's Hospital Foundation.
The Children's Hospital Foundation Gala was held at the Hyatt on September 11, 2010 in Denver, Colorado.  The purpose of the gala was to have a silent auction to raise money for the Children's Hospital Foundation.  Our children's furniture set was auctioned off to the highest bidder at the gala.

"Walrath's Donate Children's Set to Library"
Spencer Daily Reporter, October 21, 2010
Matthew and Brad Bern (left) of Bern Custom Woodworking, of Littleton, Colo., delivered a whimsical, handcrafted children's table and chair set from their new garden collection Wednesday, Oct. 20, to the Spencer Public Library. The tree trunk table and four chairs showcasing an oak leaf, blue bird, green leaf and six-legged purple bug were constructed and individually hand painted by the father-son team and artist Lori Worthman, who accomplished the detail painting on the pieces.
The children's furniture was donated to the library by Warner and Julia Walrath (right), of Spencer. Warner's youngest daughter, Diana Bern, serves as financial business manager of the family-owned and -operated woodworking business, which also employs daughter Michelle Bern as its marketing director. Brad and Diana Bern are Primghar High School graduates. (Photo by Kris Todd).
